How Kinesiology Helped Me Sleep Better and Feel Stronger During Pregnancy

Sometimes our bodies feel off — tired, achy, heavy — but we can’t quite explain why. We might say “It’s just part of pregnancy” or “Maybe I just need more rest,” but deep down, we know something isn’t quite aligned.

This is where kinesiology surprised me — in the best way.

A Turning Point at 14 Weeks Pregnant

When I was just 14 weeks pregnant with baby number four, I attended a live kinesiology training weekend. I joked that I felt more like I was 34 weeks — my bump was huge, my abs had given up already, and turning over in bed caused sharp, relentless pelvic pain.

I even had silk sheets sitting in my online basket, convinced that might be my only hope for sleep.

But during that weekend, I received a kinesiology balance — and something shifted.

The Power of Gentle Support

Over the next few days, I followed the simple techniques I was given to support my body — a bit of “homework” that felt intuitive and doable even in the chaos of mum life.

Here’s what changed:
– My pelvic pain disappeared.
– I was finally sleeping again.
– I could wear my clothes comfortably without feeling restricted or swollen.

At first, I wasn’t sure if it was just coincidence… but after two more balances and that same sense of lightness returning, I was convinced. Something in my system had realigned — and I felt like myself again.

What Is Kinesiology, Exactly?

Kinesiology uses muscle testing to tap into the body’s feedback system. It helps identify where stress or imbalance is being held and what the body needs to shift back into alignment — whether that’s nutritional support, emotional release, energy work, or structural adjustment.

It’s completely personalised, and always gentle.

For me, it’s become the perfect complement to the reflexology and Reiki I already use in my practice. While those therapies calm the stress response and support natural healing, kinesiology takes it a step further — helping the body pinpoint exactly where it needs support and why.

Could Kinesiology Help You?

If you’re pregnant and feeling “not quite right” — whether it’s pain, exhaustion, overwhelm, or emotional heaviness — kinesiology might be the gentle support you didn’t know you needed.

It has completely transformed how I’m experiencing this pregnancy: I feel more grounded, more connected, and more me.
